Hudson, MA
Ida L. (Cavatorta) Fiorvanti, 97, former long time resident of Hudson, died Thursday, March 29th at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Frank Fiorvanti in 1961.
Ida was born and raised in Framingham, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Vincini) Cavatorta. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Framingham High School. She moved to Hudson in the 1970’s from Marlboro and was employed by the former Thomas Taylor Co. of Hudson as an inspector for many years until her retirement at the age of 75. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella, Immaculate Conception Parish of Marlboro; a former member of Christ the King Parish in Hudson and member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson. Ida was an active member of the Hudson Senior Center, enjoying most of their activities, especially the ceramics classes she attended frequently.
She is survived by her son, Francis “Sonny” Fiorvanti of Oklahoma; her daughter, Rosalie A. Sheldon of Franklin; her brother, Francis Cavatorta of Framingham and two sisters, Florence Van Den Burgh of Framingham and Thelma Towne of Holliston. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Laura Sheldon of Bellingham, Lisa D’Amore of New Jersey; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Frank, Eugene, and Nathaniel Cavatorta and Mary Frost.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, April 2nd from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by funeral mass on Monday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Marlboro.
