Obituary

LEICESTER; Nancy (Hughes) Lockwood, 74, of 30 Pleasant St., died suddenly Wednesday, March 28 after being stricken ill.

She leaves a son, Hank K. Lockwood and his wife Sharon of Oxford, four daughters; Kelly F. Downer and her companion Charlie Jones of Sterling, Kim F. Fay and her husband John of Westminster, Melissa M. Ekleberry and her husband Mark of Spencer, Melinda M. Lineen and her husband Rich of Spencer, a brother, Robert Hughes of Cherry Valley, 5 grandchildren; Ashley & Brittnee Leveillee, Nicole & Kelsey Lineen and Evan Lockwood.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Charles & Marion (Griffin) Hughes. Nancy was a graduate of Wachusett High School in Holden. She worked as a bartender at various locations, most recently at Bo Jim’s in Worcester. She was past-President (1971-1973) of the Shannon-Davis American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post #205 in Rochdale. She was an avid sports fan and shopper on QVC.

She was known for her humor and had a gift to bring laughter to all. The family would like to send a thank you to a special friend Gwen White. They would also like to thank David Ward from Lincare for taking care of Nancy and going above and beyond his responsibilities.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 2 at 10 A.M. in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester.

Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Holden. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 P.M..
