Foster “Ray” Eubanks, Sr., age 89, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. Ray was born November 11, 1922 in Batesville, MS to the late James William and Annie Berry Eubanks. He served in the Asiatic Pacific during WWII in the United States Army and retired from Illinois Central Railroad where he served nearly 48 years as a materials buyer. Ray was an active member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is fondly remembered by his family as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks on Saturday, March 31, 2012 11:00 AM with Bro. David Roberson and Bro. Hal Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Jack Biggers, Edwin Bonner, Travis Brooks, Larry Lawler, Bill Norris, Lee Pullen, Willie Pullen, Ricky Ragon, James Smith and Lane True serving as pallbearers.
Ray is survived by his wife of seventy years, Alice Early Eubanks of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Janie Vick (Sam) of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren, Terry Glenn Eubanks (Jessica) and Paul Anthony Eubanks (Crystal) all of Dothan, AL, Denise Lynn Anglin (Johnny) of Senatobia, MS and Alice Nicole Eubanks of Memphis, TN; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Foster Ray Eubanks, Jr. and Tommy Kent Eubanks.
