Obituary

Sebastian, FL – Elmer “Al” Light, 77, of Sebastian, FL and formerly of Worcester, died on Saturday, March 24th in the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay with his family by his side.

Al is survived by two sons, Daniel J. Light and his wife Dawn of Sutton, MA and Michael A. Light and his wife Chrissy of Micco, FL; two daughters Cynthia A. Light of Micco, FL; Cheryl Monahan of Plymouth, two brothers, Lloyd light of Weymouth, MA and Ernest Light of Quincy, MA; a sister Susan Pizzi of Hanover; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He also leaves his companion Barbara Avery and a close family friend Shuffles Marquis.

Mr. Light was born in Derry NH son of the late Peter and Ruth (Garnier) Light. He is predeceased by a son Alan Light, a daughter Barbara Jean MacDonald and a brother Peter Light.

He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Hale during the Korean War. While Al was in the Navy he recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the China Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.

Al worked for A-1 Wholesale Window and Siding Company until he started his own business, the Emico Company which he worked at until his retirement. Upon retiring he continued his love for his job, by working as a sales representative for his son with D. Light & Sons Siding Co.

Mr. Light was a member of the VFW in Lake Park, FL. He enjoyed playing pitch, golfing and watching his grandchildren play sports.

A celebration of Al’s life will be held at 10:30am Saturday at Liberty Church 495 Hartford Turnpike Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts 71 Sterling Street West Boylston, MA 01583.
