Martha Carnelia Winn Anderson, 90, of Tifton, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Tifton's First Assembly of God. Rev. O.L. Stokes and Rev. John Thomas wìll officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Curtis Walker, Johnathon Walker, Tony Anderson, Mark Allen Strickland, Ashe Little, Hunter Whitley, Daniel Anderson and Ricky Manders will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present deacons of Tifton's First Assembly of God and their wives. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Anderson will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Anderson was born on May 6, 1921 in Wilcox County and was the daughter of Ed Winn and Alice Bullington Winn, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carson Arthell Anderson; one son, Carson Austin Anderson; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and the last charter member of Tifton's First Assembly of God.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by one son, Troy Marcus Anderson of Chula; three daughters, Mary McAllister of Tifton, Betty Walker of Abbeville and Elaine Meeks of Chula; eleven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson, Rhett James Walker.
