Obituary

William W. Gosselin, 83, a lifelong resident of Methuen, MA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family.

William was born in 1928, the son of Wilfrid and Marie Anne (Godbout) Gosselin. He was a 1947 graduate of Central Catholic High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the AMVETS. William retired from Avco/Textron in 1987 as a Process Control Manager. He was an accomplished Machinist and the family Handyman. He built his own cottage in Maine and did carpentry projects for family and friends. William enjoyed life with his family and especially his grandchildren in Maine while they were young and growing up. He also enjoyed woodworking. His favorite sport was fly fishing for Trout and Salmon in New Hampshire and Maine.

Members of William's family include his loving wife of 58 years: Alice M. (Lutz) Gosselin, his three children: Marian Gosselin Korbey and her husband Dr. Azar Korbey, Paula Gosselin Flynn and her husband Richard Flynn, Diana Gosselin Alders and her husband John Alders, as well as 4 beloved grandchildren: Samantha and John Korbey, and Julie and Stephen Flynn. He is also survived by his brother: The Reverend Richard Gosselin, his sister: Pauline Gosselin Dean and her husband John Dean, his brother-in-law: Gilbert Lutz and his wife Mary, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa's Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, also in Methuen, MA.
