Rita M. Angus, 62

Dateline: Holly Hill, Florida

Rita M. (Mulcahy) Angus, 62, of Holly Hill, Florida, formerly of Norton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. She was the beloved wife of Bruce C. Angus and the late Thomas F. Callahan.
Born in Attleboro, MA on December 5, 1949, she was a loving daughter of Rita M. (Roy) Mulcahy of Attleboro and the late Howard A. Mulcahy, Jr.
Rita grew up in Norton and was a 1967 graduate of Norton High School. She furthered her education and received a medical assistant’s degree from Fisher Junior College.
A retired Medical Assistant; Mrs. Angus had been employed for eight years in the office of Dr. Raymond Paul-Blanc, when it was located in Attleboro. She had formerly worked as a Payroll Coordinator at Texas Instruments in Attleboro. It was whiling at Texas Instruments that she met her first husband.
A resident of Florida for the past 6 years, she had formerly resided in Norton for most of her life. While living in Norton, Rita was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She was a charter member of the original Pop Warner Football League in Norton. She helped run the organizations concession stand where she was known for her “famous meatballs“.
Rita also served on the Norton Building Committee when the new Norton Middle School was being built.
Rita enjoyed being outdoors, especially at the beach. She loved spending time with family and friends and most of all with her adoring grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted children; Shannon E. Callahan and her fiancé Jason Percy of Florida, Rick P. Angus of Attleboro, Ryan R. Angus and his wife Shannon of Middleboro and Matthew M. Angus of Florida. The dear sister of Katy C. Mulcahy of Attleboro and Michael J. Mulcahy of Norton, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Erin, Cal, Trinity and Rory, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday April 11th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday April 10th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
