Obituary

SALEM - Florence W. (Lisaj) Winiarz, 82, of Salem, wife of the late Francis J. Winiarz, Sr., died Sunday evening, March 25, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, following a short illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Peciewicz) Lisaj. She was a graduated of Salem High School in the class of 1946 and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Prior to her retirement, Florence was employed as a cook for the city of Salem School Department and worked in several schools over her 25 years of service.

She enjoyed the Red Sox, the Patriots, playing bingo and listening to music. She was a season ticket subscriber at the North Shore Music Theater for many years and was a member of the Salem Council on Aging. Mrs. Winiarz was a communicant of the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem.

Her grandchildren were a big joy in her life and she will be sorely missed.

Florence is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis “Buddy” J. and Kathy Winiarz of Derry, NH, Mark D. and Mary Winiarz of Salem, four grandchildren, Justin, Kristopher and Jennifer of New Hampshire, Stephanie of Salem and one sister, Phyllis LeClaire of Gloucester.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 30, 2012, at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
