Iva Rebecca Edwards, 70, of Irwin County, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, March 29, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Bro. Garland Basford and Bro. Michael Lamb officiating. Interment will be held at 3 PM Friday, March 30 at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, Florida. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Edwards was born October 22, 1941 in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Ivan M. and Alma Barker Hagood. She lived in Bartow for many years before moving to Thomasville in 2000 and to Irwin County in 2010. She graduated high school from Summerlin Institute in Bartow and attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Edwards was a former secretary for Flowers Bakery in Thomasville, a former employee of Crown Electric and Davidson Chemical Company, a division of W.R. Grace, both in Bartow. She was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin Lea (Clete) Royal of Irwin County and Ann Edwards of Dothan, AL; son, Corey (Lois) Edwards of Maggie Valley, NC; 7 grandchildren, Tiffany (Steven) Barrett, Crissy Hill, Amanda Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Madison Royal, Judge Royal and Thadd Royal; 7 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Virgil (Carol) Hagood of Lula, GA, Orville (JoAnn) Hagood of Ocala, Fl and Mavis (J.W.) Langdale of Waynesville, NC as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Nelson Edwards.
