Obituary

Thomas, Wilma Jean Taul "Jean", 78, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 7, 1934 in Hardinsburg, KY, she was a devout Christian and a member of New Clover Creek Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret Keenan Taul, her sisters-in-law Bernice Taul and Judye Taul, and a stillborn son, Charles D. Lyons.
She is survived and will be missed by her loving and devoted husband and best friend James E. Thomas, her children Kathi Lyons Fine (Glenn), Joe Lyons, Eddie Lyons (Beth), and Jan Lyons. Affectionately known as "Grandy", she is also survived by her grandchildren Jason Lyons, Chase Fine, Jimmy Lyons, Amber Lyons, John Lyons, Lexi Lyons, and Patrick Lyons and by 5 step-grandchildren, Val, Tavia, Jennifer, Sophia and Abbi as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
She considered herself to be very lucky having 3 wonderful siblings that also survive her, Charles H. Taul & William Allen Taul of Hardinsburg and Nancy Howey and her husband Huey of Louisville. She was also blessed with the love of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who filled her life with joy.
She pursued many interests in her life including nursing at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, real estate and property management, co-owner of JT Trucking and J & J Contracting. She enjoyed cooking, music, supporting River City Lodge #996 F. & A.M. and spending time with her family.
She was a one of a kind and will dearly be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral Service will be held Noon (C.S.T.) Friday at New Clover Creek Baptist Church, 6308 Highway 105, Hardinsburg, KY 40143 with burial in New Clover Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00am - 8:00pm (E.S.T.) at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216 and Thursday 4:00 - 8:00pm (C.S.T.) at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, KY. Visitation Friday at New Clover Creek Baptist Church, Hardinsburg, KY 10:00am until Noon (C.S.T.).
