Obituary

WORCESTER-John P. Early, 86, of 52 Country Club Boulevard, died Sunday, April 11th in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife of 56 years Miriam A. (McDonald) died in 1997. He leaves 4 daughters, Miriam A. wife of Vincent L. Mitchell of Shrewsbury, Kathleen P. wife of John P. Ferguson of Princeton, Joanne E. Giardiello Stafford wife of Brendan P. Stafford of Shrewsbury and Bernadette M. wife of James P. Servideo of Worcester, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and several nephews and nieces. A brother Bernard J. Early and 2 sisters Mary A. Shea and Helen G. Reid predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of John P. and Julia E. (Donahue) Early, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. Mr. Early had been a driver for Associated Transportation Company for 17 years. Previously he had worked for 20 years at American Steel and Wire Company, and 10 years for O’Leary and Sons Mail Contractors. He was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and it’s Men’s Club, the 52 Social Club, and Local 170 Union Retirees. Mr. Early was a former high school baseball umpire and for the Men’s and Woman’s Industrial Softball Leagues, and was an avid sports fan.

The funeral is Wednesday, April 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 13th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
