Augusta, GA – Edith Jones Prince, wife of the late Jack Prince, entered into rest on March 25, 2012 at Doctors Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Augusta, GA on March 10, 1928 to the late Harley Ransom Jones and Willie Alice Shinall Jones. She was a charter member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a member of H2U, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees – Chapter 0101, and a member of the Eastern Star – Richmond Chapter 463.
She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, Uptown Division, as Chief of the VCS in 1983. She loved gardening; especially working with her flowers. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward C. Beckett and brothers, John Jones, Harley Jones, and Bobby Jones. She is survived he her daughters, Brenda Hefner (Rob), Judy McMinn (Cameron), her son, Richard Martin (Sharon), grandchildren, Michelle Burdeshaw, Kevin Hefner, Brad Hefner, Joann Bolick, Kenneth Dillard, Jr. , seven great grandchildren, and loving niece, Debra Jones Okun.
Many thanks to her physicians and the caring, compassionate nursing staff of the 5th floor at Doctors Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Westover Memorial Park.
