Obituary

Mr. Salvatore Giambarresi, 86 of Merrimac, formerly of Medford and Boston’s North End, died on Friday at his home. He is the beloved husband of the late Edith (Moscaritolo) Giambarresi. Born in Boston, son of the late Gaetano and Maria Giambarresi, he was educated in local schools. As a young man he joined the Army and fought during WWII. He worked for Raytheon for many years and worked his way up to the position of Manager.
In earlier years he was a member of the Mason’s 3rd Degree in with the Medford lodge. In his spare time he would enjoy frequenting Foxwoods, bowling, and was the founder and initiator of Sal’s Poker Club, a senior center activity in Merrimac. He was known to be an avid sports fan who loved the Red Sox and other Boston professional teams. He leaves a son, Joseph Giambarresi of Amesbury, 2 daughters, Donna Gia-Clark and her husband Kelly of FL., Janine Giambarresi and her husband Mike of Merrimac. Loving grandfather of Jay Giambarresi. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Dear brother of the late Leo and Joseph Giambarresi, Menna Spinnazola and Josie Viviani. A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
