Obituary

BRIDGEWATER – Mary (Anderson) Kacsock , 93, of Bridgewater died Thursday at the home of her niece, Janet Proulx, in Belleair Beach, Fla. She was the wife of the late Walter Kacsock.

Born Jan. 15, 1911 in Abington, the oldest daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Kalinoski) Anderson, she moved to Bridgewater with the family at age three and attended Bridgewater public schools.

Mrs. Kacsock was a 90 year resident of Bridgewater who was wintering in Florida due to illness.

She was a "Gold Star" mother. Her only son "Chuck" Kacsock gave his life for our country during the Viet Nam war in 1970. His name is inscribed on the veteran’s column in the Bridgewater Town Square.

Mrs. Kacsock was a retired employee of the Walkover Shoe Company of Bridgewater and previously worked with the Bridgewater school lunch program.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club.

Mrs. Kacsock enjoyed participating in the meetings and trips of several Taunton area Senior’s groups.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Raposa of Bridgewater and her nieces, Janet Proulx of Belleair Beach,Fla., Roberta Stefanik of Venice, Fla., Frances Guillemette and Catherine Webster, both of Taunton. She was the sister of the late Sophie Giovanoni and Katherine Silvia.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater.

Visiting hours will be prior to Mass in funeral home from 8-10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Dr., Largo, FL 33770 or the St. Thomas Aquinas Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, MA 02324.
