Roger L. Gelinas, 64, of Woonsocket, died Friday at Trinity Health Center. He was the loving husband of Florence T. (Nadeau) Gelinas.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Roger E. and Claire (Lafrenniere) Gelinas. He remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Gelinas was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and earned his degree from Johnson & Wales University.
He was employed by Blackstone Valley Security and previously worked at Superior Health Care Corporation.
Roger was a staunch fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. Along with his wife Florence he enjoyed trips New Hampshire, Cape Cod and many other destinations. He was an avid card player and like dining at area restaurants.
Roger is survived by his wife Florence and her children Robert Lepine of Woonsocket, Roger Lepine of FL, Denise Dubois of Cranston, Diane Lamoureux of Mapleville, Anne Charpentier of Blackstone, Therese Brouillette of Woonsocket, David Lepine of CA, Adrien Lepine of FL, Claire Risley of NH, Marie Lepine of Woonsocket and the late Jacqueline Lepine. He is also survived by a brother Christopher Gelinas, two sisters Diane Mercier of FL, and Rachel Morin of NH, and his extended family of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. ,Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Suite 206, Warwick, RI. 02886.
