Colleen M. Gonsalves 86, passed away at The Royal of Fairhaven, on March 14, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Mary Germaine Gonsalves and James Gonsalves. Born in New Bedford, she lived there most of her life until moving to The Cedars Assisted Living in Dartmouth and previously at 16 Borden St. in New Bedford. Colleen enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, singing and listening to Opera Music. She retired from Belmont Mfg. Co. after having been employed there for many years as a stitcher. Colleen is survived by her daughter Paula Barao of Lincoln, New York and son, Thomas (Tom) Barao of Hingham, a brother Roland (Scrappy) Gonsalves of New Bedford and a sister Doreen Gonsalves of East Falmouth. She was predeceased by her daughter Maxine Morad of New Bedford, a sister Joan L. Pacheco, also of New Bedford, three brothers, Donald J. (Bucky) Gonsalves of Fairhaven, Robert D. (Bob) Gonsalves and Carl G. Gonsalves both of New Bedford and a grandson, Kerry M. Castello. Colleen is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Perry’s Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, on Wednesday, March 28th. At which time there will be a short service followed by Burial in St. John Cemetery.
