Virginia M. "Ginny" (Markell) Kinsley, a 45 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, passed into eternal life at her home in Somerville on Saturday, March 24, 2012 after an extended illness. She was 85 years old.
Ginny was born in Boston on April 30, 1926 to the late Frederick and Ellen (Burke) Markell. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Mary's Parochial School and then graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston in 1944. Ginny worked as a Communication Supervisor at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for 27 years.
Ginny is the beloved wife of 65 years to John R. Kinsley. She is the devoted mother of Jon R. Kinsley and his wife Ellen of Quincy, Michael J. Kinsley and his wife Linda of Marlboro, Connecticut, Stephen P. Kinsley of Boston and Brian T. Kinsley and his wife Jacqueline of Billerica. She is the loving Nana of 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She is the beloved sister of Ellen Burns of Charlestown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Ginny on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Interment is private.
