Obituary

Edward J. Creeden, age 78, of Brockton, died peacefully, March 22, 2012, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Eleanor M. (Auger) Creeden. A lifelong resident of Brockton and graduate of Brockton High School, Ed was the son of the late Timothy E. and Joanna T. (Donovan) Creeden. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the United States Air Force. For many years he had been employed as a Master Plumber for Joe Donovan Plumbing in Brockton, the MDC in Boston and retired from the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Edward Church and for many years volunteered at the Mary Cruise Kennedy Senior Center. He enjoyed long distance walks and was a member of the Brockton YMCA for many years.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Droukas of St. Augustine, FL and Deborah Burt and her husband Dolfus of East Bridgewater; seven grandchildren, Roger Droukas, Jr., Ann-Marie Droukas-Quinn, Mark Droukas, Meredith Stroud, Kerry Creeden, Kim Peloquin and Dawn Davidson; nine great grandchildren, Breanna and Dustin Droukas, Alexis, Cierra, Larina and LJ Stroud, Sean Holley, Emily Davidson and Taylor Peloquin; his daughter in law Theresa Creeden of Brockton and his long time friend Sheila Morrissey. He was the father of the late Robert N. Creeden and Cynthia M. Creeden; brother of the late Pat Garnett and father in law of the late Roger Droukas.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8am for a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Donations in Ed’s name may be made to the St. Edith Stein Renovation Fund, 71 East Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
