Kathleen Henderson Floyd, 93, of Albany, Georgia, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Monday at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 until 1:30 at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Floyd was born May 11, 1918 in Irwin County to the late Gene and Mae Paulk Henderson. She grew up in Irwin County graduating from Mystic High School. Mrs. Floyd received her LPN training from the old Ocilla Hospital. She worked with Dr. Willis and Dr. Dismuke at the old Ocilla Hospital and Irwin County Hospital. For the past four years she made her home in Dublin to be close to her daughters and was a former resident of Brunswick and Waycross. Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church and a former member of the Retired Railroad Club.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jean & Charles Lang of Dublin and Sara & Jan Giovingo of Warner Robins; grandchildren: Chris and Stephanie Lang, Steven and Leigh Anna Lang, Lauren Giovingo and Jake Wiley and Matthew Giovingo; great grandchildren: Hannah Lang, Addison Lang, Asa Wiley and Brecht Wiley and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Floyd and four sisters.
