Obituary

Marvin “Curtis” Williams, Sr., 79 of Enigma died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Marvin Williams, Zach Abell, Rev. Raymond Cason and Rev. Jack Wells will officiate with burial to follow in Oakey Grove Church Cemetery. Chesley Culpepper, Mike Williams, Gerold Peele, Johnny Williams, Jed Pearman and Mark Peele will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Williams, Homer Williams, Lee Williams, Earnie Whitley, Glen Whitley, Alan Whitley, Lance Golden, Carl Nichols, Rossie McMillan, Bennie Goddard, Dwaine Weeks, Steve Stinson, Jr., Charles Rogers and Phil McMillan. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 25, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Williams was born on June 29, 1932 in Berrien County and was the son of Frank E. Williams and Fannie James Williams, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Williams; and one sister, Anita Peele. He was a farmer and a member of Mount Zion Ministries in Enigma, where he also served as a deacon.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Lunette Golden Williams of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Gina Williams of Douglas; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jeff Abell of Enigma; five grandchildren, Kurt Williams and his fiancee’, Tabatha Smith, Perrin Re’ Williams, Jenna Gabrielle Williams, Zach Abell and his wife, Jessi, and Rachel Abell; one brother, Ralph Williams of Enigma; and three sisters, Christine Whitley of Eldorado, Alma Richardson and Nadine Pearman, both of West Berrien.
