TEWKSBURY - Helen Marie (Reardon) Jenkins, age 85, died Wednesday, March 21, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Harold Jenkins who predeceased her in March of 2005.
She was born in Cambridge, April 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (McElheney) Reardon. She was raised in Medford and moved to Tewksbury in 1953 to raise her family. She was a communicant of St. William Church. In her earlier years, she was very active in Tewksbury, volunteering on the Tewksbury Ladies Auxiliary Fire Dept., Tewksbury-Wilmington Emblem Club and working in various positions within the Tewksbury Public School System.
She is survived by her five children and two daughters-in-law; Richard Jenkins and his wife Sheila (Scannell) of Trumbull, CT, Gary Jenkins and his wife Barbara (Bertolami) of Methuen, Brad Jenkins of Tewksbury, Greg Jenkins of Lowell, Lauren Jenkins of Tewksbury, a sister and brother-in-law; Marilyn Small and her husband James of Stoneham, and seven grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Francis Jr. "Sonny" Reardon, and John "Jackie" Reardon.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, Mar. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA, In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215, are appreciated.
