Obituary

Madeline B. (DiGravio) Toppi, of Medford, died Thursday at the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital . She was 83.

Mrs. Toppi was born in East Weymouth, the daughter of the late John and the late Carmella (Sparda) DiGravio. After her marriage she and her husband Ernest moved to Boston and then lived in Medford for over 40 years.Madeline was an exceptional cook. Her talents in the kitchen were equal between cooking and baking. Madeline belonged to the Blue Gazette where her recipes were often published.

Madeline was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Toppi. She was a devoted mother of Brenda Lynch of Medford and Ernestine Lane of NH. She was a loving grandmother to Madeline, Robert, Robin, Brenda and the late John Lynch and is also survived by 5 great grandchildren. She was a dear sister of James, Rico, John DiGravio, Vera Guiducci and the late Guido DiGravio.

Friends may call Monday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, Malden, with the Rev. Richard Mehm celebrant, Tuesday at 9 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
