Mary T. Howard, of Nelson Street, Providence, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Golden Crest Nursing Center in North Providence. She was the wife of Wyman C. Howard.
Born in Ionia, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late William and Carrie (Sczybo) Rohal. Before moving to Providence twelve years ago, she had previously lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa for forty-five years.
Mrs. Howard was a member of Providence PFLAG, the Providence Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, the Omaha Association of the Blind, and the Council Bluffs CB Club. She loved gardening and reading.
Besides her husband, she is also survived by her children: Gwendolyn Howard of Providence, Renée Smith of San Antonio, TX and Susan Howard of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Jason and Patrick Smith and Brianne Payne, great grandsons, Jack and John Smith, and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Falcon of Providence. She was the sister of the late William Rohal, Jr., Michael and John Rohal, Frances Yeasley, Helen Supp and Ann Cohn.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Beneficent Congregational Church, 300 Weybosset Street, Providence.
