Roger J. Tessier, 84, formerly of Scituate, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at North Bay Manor.
He was born in Providence, and was a son of the late Ernest and Adrienne (Gouin) Tessier. He had lived in the town of Scituate for forty years before moving to Smithfield a year ago.
Mr. Tessier was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He had been an Installation technician for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division until his retirement. He was a past member of the Pinetree Gun Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his children: Michael J. Tessier of Warwick, Brian E. Tessier of Cranston, Maureen Tessier Mailhot of Ledyard, CT, Sean A. Tessier of Smithfield and Kevin M. Tessier of Litchfield, CT; six grandchildren, his siblings, Anne Marie Savastano of Johnston and Raymond Tessier of Smithfield and his companion, Pauline Creamer. He was the brother of the late Robert J. and Maurice J. Tessier.
Committal Service with military honors Friday at 11:30 am in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
