Elna L. ( Bernsten) Eisnor, 97, of Whitman died March 17th in the Weymouth Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Alexander “Larry” R. Eisnor.
She was born in Brockton, bought up in West Bridgewater, daughter of the late Erick and Ellen (Olin) Bernsten. Elna attended West Bridgewater Schools.
Elna was a longtime resident of Whitman; she worked at the Commonwealth Shoe Company for over 20 years and retired from E.T. Wright Shoe Company.
She was a charter member of the Joy in Christ Lutheran Church in Abington, and was the choir director and the organist. She was also the organist for the Caffrey Towers in Brockton.
Elna enjoyed bowling and Square Dancing.
She is survived by her granddaughter, DiAnn, Her niece Margaret Cook of Easton and her cousin Judith Graham of Pembroke She also was the mother of the late Stanley W. and Ronald Eisnor, and sister of the late Wilfred Bernsten
Her graveside service will be held on Thursday March 22nd at 11:00AM in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman, MA. Calling hours omitted by her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joy of Christ Church, 21 South Bedford St, Abington, MA. 02351.
