George J. Wallo Jr., 83, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Irvine, Texas, died Feb. 17 at a Plano nursing facility. His wife of 57 years is May Kishel Wallo.
Born Dec. 31, 1928, in Jessup, son of the late George Wallo Sr. and Helen Gorel, he was a 20-year Navy officer. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years before retiring. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Also surviving are a daughter, Daren Wallo Rogers and husband, Les, Dallas; a son, George Wallo III, Hurst, Texas; three grandchildren, Donnie Hudson Jr., Jennifer Hall and Samantha Wallo; a sister, Helen Oravec, Peckville; and three brothers, Joseph Wallo and wife, Romayne, Dickson city; Edward Wallo and wife, Jackie, Pottstown; and John Wallo and wife, Catherine, Dickson City; several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Hudson; and a sister, Mary Wallo Tyminski.
Funeral services were held in Irvine, Texas. Local arrangements by the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant.
