Mark L. Godek, 55, of Jefferson St., Epsom, died Thursday afternoon, March 15, 2012, at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.
He was born Januray 20, 1957, in San Francisco, CA, the son of the late Mieczyslaw and Ellen (Dormin) Godek. He was a graduate of the Tilton School, Tilton, and received a BS Degree in Finance, Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver (CO). He had been a resident of Epsom for the past 3 years, coming from Gilford.
At the time of his death, he was self employed in the construction field.
He was a life time member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Assoc.), the USSA (United States Ski Assoc.) Coach's Assoc., and a former member of the Gilford Community Church, where he chaired the Church Fair Committee during Gilford's Old Home Day celebrations for several years. He loved anything that had to do with dirt bike riding, golfing or skiing.
Mark is survived by his daughters, Sara Ellen Godek of Gilford and Lucile Lyn Godek of Epsom; brothers, Matthew F. Godek of Fairfax Station,VA, Stephen D. Godek of Danbury and his baby twin brother Gregory F. Godek of Intervale; sisters, Katherine "Kasha" Abbott of Miami, FL and Barbara V. Hall of Daleville,VA; several nieces and nephews; his companion, Janice M. Tardif of Epsom; and his former wife, Linda Pilliod of Laconia. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary G. Hall of Aurora, CO.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11 am in the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Rd., Gilford, with the Rev. Michael C. Graham, pastor, officiating. Following the services, family and friends are invited to gather at the Pistol Pub, Gunstock Ski Area, Gilford, from 1pm to 4pm for a Celebration of Mark's life.
