Obituary

Andrea P. Taylor, age 44, on Sunday, March 11, 2012, of Arlington, VA, and Washington, DC, and formerly of Chicago, IL, and Natick, passed peacefully at Georgetown University Hospital.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of Adrienne Taylor and the late Alvin Taylor. Andrea was a graduate of the Natick School System, the University of Virginia, and Northeastern University School of Law and was employed as the Deputy Branch Chief of the Training Branch, Defenders Services at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. Andrea was a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section Council.

Andrea was passionate about giving a voice to and advocating for the indigent through her training of federal defenders. She was also dedicated to elevating the confidence and self-esteem of the youth. Beyond her commitment to justice and skills in pursuing those causes, Andrea loved nurturing her children, staying in touch with friends, traveling and photographing the world, and living every day to its fullest. We were awed by her courage.

She was the beloved wife for 15 years of Vincent Haskell and devoted mother of Imani and Jakobi. She is also survived by her sister, Alyssa and her brother, Alvin, her aunts: Alvene and Trudy, her nieces: Taylor and Alexandra, her nephews: Dante and Dillon and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street, Natick, on Tuesday, Mar. 20th beginning at 5:00p.m. with a Service of Remembrance to follow at 7:00p.m. Burial will be private.
