Albert A. Nye, Sr., 78, of Auburn, NH, died Friday, April 9, 2004 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester. Mr. Nye was born on July 22, 1925 in Manchester, a son of the late George I. and Flora (Corson) Nye, Sr. He was a resident of Auburn for most of his life. He served as a sergeant in the US Army during World War II. He retired after 30 years as a truck driver for Granite State Packing in Manchester. He was a member of the American Legion Post #37 in Hooksett. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy C. (Perkins) Nye of Auburn, three daughters, Susan Nye of Sahuarita, AZ, Priscilla Towne of Gilmanton, NH, Margie McEvoy of Auburn, two sons, Albert Nye, Jr. and David Nye, both of Auburn, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four sisters, Lillian Cochran of Big Rock, TN, Shirley Norris and Muriel Lesko both of Auburn, Beverly Kobel of Candia, one brother, Perley James Nye of Windsor, CT, numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
