Obituary


Richard G. Tynan died peacefully in his home March 14, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old.

Born and raised in Brookline, he spent last 45 years with his family in Canton. Richard proudly served in the US Army. He attended night school at Bentley College and became a CPA. He operated his CPA practice for many years with his beloved wife Terri by his side. While semi-retired he became an usher for the Boston Red Sox, which he loved and was thrilled when they won the 2004 World Series.

He was an active member of Saint Gerard Majella Church in Canton, and the Canton Knights of Columbus Council #2095. He served on the Town of Canton Finance Committee for many years, the Saint John's School Association, the Canton Lions Club, and served on the Canton Community Cable Committee.

Son of the late James and Mary (Sullivan) Tynan. Devoted husband for 48 years to Theresa “Terri” (Sparco) Tynan. Loving father of Diane Tynan and Stephen Hudson of Canton, Michelle Darling and her husband David of Raynham, Ann Peterson and her husband Robert of Mansfield and Mary Cassidy and her husband Tom of Abington. Loving brother of Rev John Tynan , James Tynan ,and Jean Barnes. Proud grandfather of Christine Corleto, Anthony Darling, Nicole Darling, Joseph Corleto, Kayli Peterson, and Emily Peterson. He is also survived by many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Gerard Majella Church Washington St Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4-8 PM in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations can be made in Dick’s memory to the St. Vincent De Paul Society 700 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
