Obituary

FRANKLIN—Paul F. Gurrie 67, of Franklin, died peacefully, at home with his family at his side, Wednesday March 14, 2012 following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne “Sue” (Belisle) Gurrie.
Born July 2, 1944 in Watertown, a son of the late Francis E. and Eleanore C. (Lillis) Gurrie, he had lived in Franklin for the past 31 years.
He was educated in Marshfield, where he was a 1962 graduate of Marshfield High School and then furthered his education at Wentworth Institute; he also attended Fitchburg State College where he received a Masters Degree in Education. For over 29 years he was the carpentry instructor at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, and was also the owner and operator of PFG Construction & Remolding.
Paul enjoyed skiing, traveling, and spending his time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by a son Michael P. Gurrie and his companion Lisa Cummings of Lincoln, a daughter Sara B. Gurrie Orndorff and her husband Dallas of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a brother Francis E. Gurrie and his wife Judy of Haverhill, a sister Maureen Taylor of Plymouth.
He was the brother of the late John Gurrie.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Calvin and Libby.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday March 17th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Friday March 16th, from 4-8PM.
