Helen A. (Kranefuss) Keleher, a resident of West Roxbury since 1924, passed away on March 13, 2012, 3 days shy of her 98th birthday. Helen was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and Fisher Business College. She worked for over 25 years at Provident Institution for Savings in Boston before retiring in 1979. Helen was a longtime volunteer for Catholic Charities of Boston. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Helen was the dear and devoted wife of the late John J. Keleher. Loving mother of Patrick Keleher and his wife Jane of North Attleboro, Kevin Keleher and his wife Barbara of Plymouth, Brendan Keleher and his wife Kathy of Burlington, VT, Daniel Keleher of Northampton and Eileen Nolan and her husband Paul of Mashpee and South Boston. Beloved “Granny” of 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Loving daughter of the late George and Ottilie Kranefuss. Dear sister of the late George Kranefuss, Ruth Holderreid and Gertrude Cooper. She was the dear aunt of Kenneth Kranefuss as well as several other loving nieces and nephews.
Helen's Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Theresa of Avila Chapel on March 16, 2012. Contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 51 Sleeper St. Boston, MA 02210.
Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Boston.
