Arthur Getchell, 86, of Raynham, formerly of Norton and Wrentham, passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Boston, MA on March 3, 1926, he was a son of the late Mary Getchell. For 50 years, Arthur was a resident of the Wrentham State School. At age 54, he went to work at Fogerty’s Farm in Norton and later moved to the farm where he made his home for many years, before moving to Raynham.
Arthur enjoyed working with the animals at Fogerty’s Farm and also working at Fogerty’s Auto and Salvage. His hobbies included fixing and repairing radios and watches, collecting things and times spent with friends in Maine.
He is survived by the Fogerty’s of Norton, whom he considered his family, as well as many friends, including his best friend Michael Rouillard.
His Memorial Service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday March 22nd at 7:00 P.M. in the Chartley United Methodist Church, 76 South Worcester St., Norton.
