Obituary

RIDEOUT Eloise L. of Wellesley died March 13, 2012 after a brief illness. She was 91.
Born in Boston, MA on May 20, 1920, Mrs. Rideout was the daughter of the late Stanley M. Lane and Helen (Rhodes) Lane of Wellesley, MA. Mrs. Rideout was a graduate of LaSalle College High School in Newton, MA and Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA (Diploma in Biblical Studies).

Mrs. Rideout married George M. Rideout in 1940, who was President of Babson Reports, Chairman of the Board of Gordon College and a frequent guest speaker for the Christian Women’s Club of Stonecroft Ministries, of which Mrs. Rideout was a member. Mrs. Rideout also served on the Friendship Committee of the New England Baptist Hospital and was a counselor for the 1964 Billy Graham Boston Crusade.

Mrs. Rideout is survived by her six children: Susan L. Graves (husband William Paul Graves) of Westborough, MA; Eloise Priscilla Costello (husband Francis L. Costello, Jr.) of Denmark, ME; George M. Rideout, Jr. of Wellesley, MA; Stanley L. Rideout (wife Hilda A. Rideout) of Durham, NH; Sally R. Smith (husband Sharber W. Smith) of Theodore, AL; and Ida F. Crafts (husband Douglas R. Crafts) of Antrim, NH, along with fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 16th at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (RT. 16) Wellesley, from 5-8p.m. A memorial service of worship and celebration of her life will be held at Westgate Church, 100 Winter St., Weston, MA on Saturday, March 17th at 11AM. A reception will follow. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SIM USA, P.O. Box 7900, Charlotte, N.C. 28241, for SIMAir, Niger, W. Africa (project NE88800) where Mrs. Rideout’s two grandsons are serving as missionary pilots.
