Obituary

Mr. Horace Clayton Hyatt, 82, of 717 Richmond Road, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 in his home.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 15 in Sweet Haven Church with Pastor Mitchell Roller and Reverend Lester English officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Eastside Cemetery.



A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Horace was born on November 24, 1929 to the late William O. and Margaret Clark Hyatt. He served in the US Army with a tour of duty in Korea and then in the Army National Guard. He worked in textiles most of his life and retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Aleen Sellars Hyatt in 2007, as well as brothers Harold and Albert Hyatt, and sisters Monnie and Margaret M. Hyatt.



He leaves behind a son, Wayne Hyatt and wife Susan of Lake Lure; a daughter, Wanda Dunn and husband Woody of Little River, SC; grandsons Woody Dunn and wife Amanda of Shallotte, Brad Hyatt and wife Ashley of Ft. Mill, SC, Ryan Dunn and wife Melissa of Little River, SC, Mark Hyatt and wife Christina of Arlington, VA, Trent Hyatt and wife Dana of Idaho Springs, CO, and Jeff Hyatt and wife Sally of Ft. Mill, SC; and great-grandchildren Campbell, Kayla, Drew, Katie, Jordan, Brinley, Nyla, Grayson, and Sally Sue.



The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-2:00 at Sweet Haven Church.
