Cambridge, Ma. – Eleanor E. (Medauer) Addison, 93 beloved mother of David and Barbara Addison and adored wife of the late Richard Addison past silently to her final rest in the early hours of March 13, 2012.
Throughout her life Eleanor brought joy to all she met and was always generous and giving of herself asking little in return. A faithful servant of the Lord, she was a communicant of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen.
Mrs. Addison was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School class of “1936” in Methuen and in Lawrence the McIntosh Business school. A lifelong resident of Methuen since 1955 Eleanor served as Methuen’s Assistant Treasurer before her retirement.
Mrs. Addison volunteered for many years at the Methuen Senior Citizens center for which she was awarded volunteer of the year in 1997.
She is survived by her son and daughter David Addison of Old Saybrook, Ct., and Barbara Addison of Cambridge, Ma. and Tiverton, Rhode Island and loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery also of Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 4-6 P.M. and Friday morning from 7:30 A.M. – 8:45 A.M. at the Kenneth H.Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
