West Roxbury, MA.– Michael J. Farrell, 56, died March 10, 2012 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in San Diego, CA. the son of William J. Farrell and Patricia Morris.
He was educated at St. Raphael Grammar School, graduating from Manchester West High School in Manchester, NH, then Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA.
He served his country in the U.S. Naval Reserves.
Michael was employed by the Boston Redevelopment Authority as well as the City of Boston for a number of years.
Family members include his father, Professor William J. Farrell, mother Patricia Morris, his stepmother, Patricia Farrell all of Manchester, sisters, Siobhan Stanford and her husband David of Sandwich, MA., Moira Farrell and her husband Ron Rocha of Swampscott, MA., Deirdre Farrell of Newburyport, MA., Megan Farrell of Martha’s Vineyard, MA., one brother, Robert Farrell of Marion, MA., step sisters, Peg Bourque of Hooksett, NH., Maureen Gallagher and her husband Chris of Needham, MA. and one step brother Brian Leaming and his wife Beth of Marlborough, CT.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday March 16, 2012 at 11 AM in St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St., Manchester, NH. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the funeral.
Committal prayers will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Donald St. Bedford NH.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bill and Pat Farrell Scholarship Fund at St. Anselm College, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Manchester, NH 03102.
