Nettie Lue Jowers, age 91, of Folkston, GA passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was formerly of Coffee County. Mrs. Jowers was born on November 23, 1921, in Atkinson County, GA to the late Traphefenia Mixon and Thomas Jackson Wildes. Mrs. Jowers was the last of thirteen children to leave the world and go be with the Lord.
Survivors include: her two daughters, Shirley (Hilton) Rowell, of Callahan, FL and Judy Ann Stapleton, of Folkston, GA; one son, Gene (Nina) Jowers, Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren, Nell Faye Thompson, of Callahan, FL, James “Jamie” Hilton Rowell, of Callahan, FL, Cynthia Jean Jowers, of Jacksonville, FL, and Gregory Scott (Amy) Jowers, of Jacksonville, FL; five great granddaughters, Amanda Faye Thompson, of Callahan, FL, Leah Makayla Thompson, of Hilliard, FL, Cheyanne Haley Rowell, of Callahan, FL, Emily Jowers, and Briana Jowers, both of Jacksonville, FL, two great grandsons, Cole Jameson Rowell, and Nicholas Jowers, both of Callahan, FL . She was preceded, in death by her husband Art Jowers and by one daughter Latrelle Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 12 - 2 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Winston Wright officiating. Interment followed at Jowers Chapel Cemetery.
