James N. Norris, 75, of Manchester died April 8, 2004 at Elliot Hospital.
Born in Greece on August 28, 1928, he was the son of Nicholas and Calliope (Kasserakis) Norris. He grew up in Nashua and was a longtime resident of Manchester.
During and after World War II he served in the US Merchant Marine.
Mr. Norris worked as a landscaper for many years. He owned and raced thoroughbred horses at several New England racetracks. He loved the sea all his life and was an avid skilled fisherman.
The family includes his wife of 52 years, Shirley R. (Wood) Norris of Manchester; two daughters, Virginia Lee of Bradford, MA and Gloria Norris of Santa Monica, CA; a grandson; two brothers, Stephen Norris of Nashua and William Norris of Sacramento, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to any animal shelter or animal rescue league.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
