Obituary

DANVERS: Claire E. (LaMontagne) Rattray, 81, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Renaissance Gardens of Brooksby Village, Peabody following a brief illness during which she was attended by a loving, caring staff. She was the wife of Kendrick D. Rattray.
Born in Beverly on October 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Sirois) LaMontagne. A graduate of Beverly High School class of 1948 and Salem State College, she had resided in Beverly for fifty years before moving to Danvers in 1980 and more recently to Brooksby Village in Peabody. She also enjoyed wintering in Sun City Center, Florida for the past eighteen years.
Claire was employed as a materials analyst at Sylvania in Danvers for thirty-four years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Caloosa Greens Golf Club and the Yoga Club both in Sun City Center.
In addition to her husband of thirty-seven years, she is survived by her two sons Alan Burridge and his wife, Erine of Lincoln, CA, and Scott Burridge and his wife, Tracy of Newberg, OR; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Burridge of Danvers; three step-sons, Kendrick D. Rattray, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Fort Walton Beach, FL, David Rattray of SeaTac, WA and Richard Rattray and his wife, Kristin of Magnolia. Also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jessica Stone Ewing, Julieanne Burridge, Emma and Zoe Burridge, Alana Burridge, April Doss, Matthew Rattray, Kendrick D. Rattray III, David Rattray, Kaitlin and Emily Rattray; and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert LaMontagne of Highland, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Ann Stone, her son, Mark Burridge, her two sisters, Rita LaMontagne and Jeannette Kulakowski and her five brothers, Roland, Eugene, Donald, Louis and Edward LaMontagne.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
