Allen Dee Taylor, Jr., age 60. Retired Lt. from Metro Nashville Fire Dept, EMS and Commissioned Metro Police Officer. He was preceeded in death by his wife Vickie Lynn Taylor, son Derek Blaine Taylor, and nephew Donnie H. Smith. Survived by son Kristopher Taylor, daughter Amelia Booth and grandchildren, Brayden Taylor, Layne Booth, Kalesta Taylor, Vikki Lynn Taylor, Sydney Mattern, Ali Webb and Sammy Sprinkles, sisters Beverly Smith, Kathy Miles, nieces Tammy Yearta, Margot Wilson and Elizabeth Hargrove. Allen was a loving father and grandfather who was loved dearly by everyone who knew him and known by many as “Papa Taylor”. He dedicated his self to helping others, especially youth in his community. Risking his own life for the safety and wellbeing of others, never giving regard to himself. Allen was the recipient of many awards and commendations for his heroism and community service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and rare items. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
