Robert "Bobby" "Pappy" Douglas Tomes, Sr., 69, passed away peacefully March 7,2012 at home with his family by his side.
He was a loving Husband, Father,Grandfather and good provider for his family, former maintance machinist at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co., and a Baptist.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 52 years Pauline "Sissy" (Duvall) Tomes, the love of his life and best friend, his mother Mildred Woosley, also daughter Deborah Glass (Donald) and son Robert Tomes, Jr. (Michelle) Grand-daughter Ashley Tomes, step Grand-daughter Cheyenne,brother-in-law Shirley Duvall, Jr. , grandchildren Donald Glass,Jr. (Sarah),Robert Glass ( Samantha) and Deonna Glass (Shawn).Great Grand-children, Devyn and Ceaira Brock, Elisabeth Alwaily and Jayden, Aunt Mona Bumbico, sister Judy Green (Jewell), Nephew Mike Green.
He was a nascar fan of Kyle Busch #18 M&M Rowdy Busch.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with visitation from noon - 4 p.m.
