Antonio F. Furtado, age 85 resided in Fall River with Antonio & Laura Carvalho Furtado, passed away March 8, 2012. He was the husband of the late Maria Angela (Simas) Furtado. Born in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, he was the son of the late Antonio Moniz Furtado & the late Ana Bento (Pacheco) Furtado. Prior to retiring, Mr. Furtado worked as a farmer for Reeds Farm. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
He is survived by his children: Jose H. Furtado of Canada, Antonio F. Furtado of Fall River, Cesaria Santos of Sao Miguel, Maria Lucilia F. Costello of Mozambique, Alvarina A. Cunha of Fall River, Delmino Furtado & Goncalo L. Furtado both of Sao Miguel; siblings: Alice Melo & Jose Maria Simas both of Sao Miguel, Marianna Rita of Canada; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; & several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will be held from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours on SUNDAY 5-9 P.M.
