Martha Pauline Thornton Tucker, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Tucker was born February 7, 1911, in Wayne County, Georgia, to the late William E. and Cassie Turner Thornton. She lived in the community since 1939. Mrs. Tucker was a former Draw Frame Operator at Fitzgerald Mills. She was a member of Anderson Memorial Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her daughter: Corene H. Day, Fitzgerald; one granddaughter: Linda Williams, Fitzgerald; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother and one sister: R.D. Thornton and Ida Tucker, both of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Tucker and one grandson, Ronnie Edward Day.
