Sidney “Sid” Vickers, Sr., age 82, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, at home following an extended illness. Mr. Vickers was born on August 29, 1929, in Douglas, GA to the late Micajah and Maggie Elva Mills Vickers.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Lou Vickers, of Douglas, GA; five daughters, Debra (Richard) Bacon, of Powder Springs, GA, Tamara Franceschelli, of Marietta, GA, Teresa (Ronald) DiCicco, of Grosse Farms, MI, Lisa (Don) Jacobs, of Statesboro, GA, and Donna (Jim) Brewer, Moultrie, GA; two sons, Sidney (Renee) Vickers, Jr., of Waycross, GA and Lewis (Cathy) Vickers, of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Amos (Sharon) Vickers, of Douglas, GA, and Ralph (Lynn) Vickers, of Marietta, GA,; three sisters, Delsa Hauck, of Philadelphia, PA, Colleen Holton, of Columbus, GA, and Irma Jean (Haven) Schmitt, IA; two sisters-in-law, Frankie Taylor, of Port St. Joe, FL, and JoAnn Howard, of Tampa, FL; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Gail) Rudd, Havana, FL, and Wendell (Lisa) Rudd, of Destin, FL; thirteen grandchildren, Rachel (Eric) Luna, Charlie Bacon, Ryann Vickers, Dana Franceschelli, Ronnie DiCicco, Chelsea DiCicco, Kelcie Jacobs, Koree Jacobs, Mandy Dillingham, Kayla Dillingham, Wes Vickers, Drew Vickers, Brock Vickers. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Bush and Lorraine Lott.
Visitaion will be March 7, 2012 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Wilkes officiating. Interment followed at City of Douglas Cemetery.
