Bridgewater – Beatrice Virginia “Ginny” (Harrington) Hopgood, 89 of Bridgewater formerly of Whitman and Hanson passed away Sunday, March 4. She was the beloved wife of the late August Brandenburg and the late Albert E. Hopgood.
She had been a resident of Whitman and Hanson for several years before moving to Bridgewater.
Ginny was an avid reader and loved to sew, do puzzles and watch TV.
Survivors include her sons Paul Brandenburg of Delaware, and Andrew Hopgood of Rhode Island, her twin daughters Jean Riley and Joan Bump both of Bridgewater, and Joy McGuire of Idaho, and her close friend Alice Kent of Bridgewater. Ginny is also survived by her many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday March 7 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours are omitted by request of the family.
