Obituary

Karen I. Kinneen, age 68, of Burlington and former longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 2nd at the DeRahm Hospice Home in Cambridge. She was the beloved wife of David B. Kinneen and together they shared close to 48 years of marriage. Born in Woburn, Karen was one of three children of the late Joseph and Loretta (Canning) Danca.

Karen was raised and educated in Woburn and was a member of the Woburn High School graduating class of 1961. Prior to her retirement, Karen worked as an office manager at Tektronixs Inc. of Billerica for forty-seven years. Mostly devoted to her loving family, Karen enjoyed nothing more than entertaining family and friends in her home and especially cherished the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. She also enjoyed tending to her flower garden and caring for her Hydrangea plants. Over the years together with her family they enjoyed traveling and vacationing together and spent many summer vacations at Hampton Beach. Karen also got great joy from "Finnegan" the family dog who was always at her side.Family was Karen's main focus and she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren and was always looking forward to the next family event or get together.

Along with her beloved husband, Karen is survived by her children, Kristen Wiercinski and her husband Kevin of Groton, Kelly Virbickas and her husband Linas of Chevy Chase, MD, Shawn Kinneen and his wife Susan of Wilmington, Karen Reilly and her husband Jason of Andover. She was the loving Nana of ten cherished grandchildren. She was the sister of Joseph Danca and his wife Pamela of Wakefield, and Joyce Hammer and her husband John of Billerica. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, March 7th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Karen's memory to VNA Care Netwok and Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.
