In Taunton, March 2, 2012 Rita (Bernier) Halliley wife of the late Elmer Halliley died at Morton Hospital in Taunton at the age of 89. Born in Taunton and educated at St Mary’s High School, Rita was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Calvey) Bernier. Rita was employed at Marion Manor Nursing Home in Taunton for over thirteen years as a Physical Therapist Assistant and previously worked for Paul A. Dever State School. She enjoyed knitting, search word puzzles, reading and listing to country music. Rita was the mother of Patricia Meack of Lakeville, Kenneth Halliley of Fall River, James Halliley of Taunton, Paul Halliley of Fall River and Peter Halliley of Taunton and the late Bonita Leal. Grandmother of twelve and great grandmother of nine. Sister of Jean Tremblay of Taunton, Pat Taylor of Taunton, Norma Longo of Taunton and the late William, George, Leo and Donald Beriner, Avis Conaty, Elizabeth Andrews, Shirley Rose and Lorraine Tremblay. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday, March 6th from 6-8 followed by a prayer service at 8 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
