Albina Agnes Janda, passed away on March 3, 2012, at the age of 97 , at Monument Hill Nursing and Rehab Center.
Albina was born on March 1, 1915 at Dubina, Texas to Leo J. Hromadka and Marcella Bartos Hromadka. She was a retired salesperson and housewife. She married John B. Janda on November 7, 1938. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, KJZT #23 at Hostyn, Catholic Daughters #2282, Christian Mothers, Living Rosary Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Albina enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, checking cattle and cooking.
Albina is survived by three sons; John B. Janda, Jr. and wife Sandy, Anthony Janda and wife Lucy and Andrew Janda and wife Martha; one sister, Mary Masek; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hromadka, Ella Hromadka, Margie Hromadka and Bernice Hromadka. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Michelle Allen and husband Greg, Melissa Pohlmeyer and husband Craig, Christopher Janda and wife Kara, Brandon Janda, Amy Jordan and A. J. Janda; three step grandchildren, Clarence Weatherford and wife Stacy, Adam Wright and wife Paulette and Josh Wright; nine great-grandchildren, Jared, Grayson and Logan Allen, Kennedy, Kamryn and Ross Pohlmeyer, Lauren and Emily Janda and Jimmy Jordan; seven step great-grandchildren, Nicole and Colby Wright, Abby, Hunter and Andrew Wright, Mitchell and Chistopher Weatherford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Virginia; sisters, Marcella Cernoch, Rosie Smith and Lillie Janacek; brothers, Jeff Hromadka, Bennie Hromadka, Leo Hromadka, Eddie Hromadka, Joe Hromadka and George Hromadka.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday March 4, 2012, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday March 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
