Peter A. Whiting of Grantham, NH, formerly of Chelmsford, MA., died on Wednesday February 29th surrounded by his family at DHMC in Lebanon, NH. He was the husband of Rosemary (Pezzee) Whiting.
Peter grew up in Whitman, son of Marion Whiting and the late John Whiting. He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School class of 1966, also a graduate of U Mass, Amherst and earned his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College 1973.
He was a longtime resident of 25 years in Chelmsford, MA., before moving to Grantham NH.
Peter was a loyal husband, admirable father, stalwart friend, peerless colleague. He was a humble person with a true passion of knowledge of any kind. He was devoted to his career as a management consultant for the Revere Group in Chicago.
His love of life was only rivaled by his dedication to both the Republican Party and the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his wife Rosemary and his mother Marion, he is survived by his son Nathaniel A.M. Whiting of NH, his sisters, Gail McDonald of Rockland and Joyce Dugre of Hampden, his lifelong friend, Dr. Wayne Baker and his wife Lynn and “Fenway” the family Golden Retriver; also several nieces and nephews. Also, he was the father of the late W. Matthew Whiting
A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday March 7th at 10:00AM in the United Methodist Church, South Ave, Whitman. Relatives and friends are welcome. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 6th from 5:00PM-8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, (RT 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, MA. Private burial will be at a later date in the Our Lady of the Valley Cemetery in Sheffield, MA. Donation may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Northern New England Chapter, 114 Perimeter Rd.
